I feel like this is almost too easy to type up, but, sometimes it’s nice to have it written up to share with new peeps that are still learning. This is a great base to a ton of different sauces, marinades and fillings.
Once prepared, this will store in the fridge for about a month, but, while making this PLEASE be careful to not get too close as, fresh horseradish is super potent! And, for heaven’s sake please wash your hands well after. Have you ever touched your eye after chopping a jalapeno? Well, let me warn you-this is WAY worse!
Quick and simple way to prepare and store horseradish, which can add that bit of heat that we all miss without nightshades!
- 1 8-10 inch horseradish root
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 tsp salt
Peel horseradish root and chop.
Add ingredients to a food processor and blend until desired smoothness. At this point, you can store as is in the fridge for up to a month.
From this point, you could add to a compliant coconut yogurt, or coconut cream to make an aioli, add some EVOO for a marinade or dressing, the list is endless.
